Dr. C. Lynn Hurst
Dr. Hurst is a board-certified orthodontist, co-founder at Candid, creator of Candid’s treatment planning prescription, and co-founder at The Smile Store. After completing his education at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Dentistry with his Masters of Science in Orthodontics, he founded Hurst Orthodontics, which he owned and operated for 19 years.
While operating his practice, he became the founding director and clinical associate professor for the orthodontic residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, an innovative three-year postdoctoral program established to train dentists to become orthodontists and orthodontic educators. Concurrently, he was a Fellow in the American Dental Education Association Leadership Institute, which is a year-long fellowship to develop the nation’s rising individuals at academic dental institutions into future leaders in dental and higher education.
After leaving his practice in 2005, Dr. Hurst was the Associate Dean for Advanced Education, Associate Professor (with tenure), and founding director for the Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics Residency at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Following this, he became the founding dean and professor for the College of Dental Medicine at Roseman University of Health Sciences, which includes the inauguration of the postdoctoral dental program, Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics/Master of Business Administration Residency; an innovative postdoctoral dental program designed to combine dental specialty training with an MBA degree.
Since then, he’s founded Texas Orthodontics (SmileRx) and implemented its integrated clear aligner systems with services ranging from creating digital orthodontic records with treatment planning, to bioengineered aligner trays, and into post treatment retention.This positioned Texas Orthodontics as the first exclusively clear aligner orthodontic practice.
